NICKEL BERYLLIUM ALLOYS

Does your application require good spring characteristics at elevated temperature? Brush Wellman's Alloy 360 (UNS N03360) nickel beryllium strip combines unique mechanical and physical properties required in today's high reliability electrical/electronic systems, heavy duty controls, electromechanical devices and in other high performance applications. See the strip alloy line card for more information.

Nickel beryllium strip is typically used for applications such as thermostats, bellows, diaphragms, burn-in connectors, and sockets.

The chemical composition of Alloy 360 strip is 1.85 to 2.05 % Beryllium, 0.4 to 0.6% Titanium, balance Nickel. Alloy 360 is available only in strip form and in an age hardenable temper.

The physical properties of Alloy 360 are:

Density = 0.294 lb./in 3 (8.13 g/cm 3)

Coefficient of Thermal Expansion = 8.0 x 10-6/°F (14.4 x 10-6/°C)

Thermal Conductivity = 28 BTU/(ft-hr°F) (48.0 W/m°K)

Elastic Modulus = 28.5 x 106 psi (20 x 103 kg/mm2)

Electrical Conductivity = 4-6% IACS
