BRUSH WELLMAN ROD/BAR PRODUCTS

Brush Wellman offers rod and bar product in various alloys, shapes, and sizes.

Rod is supplied in straight lengths for machining into finished components by the user. Typical applications include:

  • RF coaxial connectors
  • Circular connectors
  • Printed Circuit Board Test Probes
  • Low maintenance bushings and bearings
  • Rugged resistance welding gun structural components
  • Core pins and other inserts for plastic injection molding and metal die casting
  • Oil and gas drill string components and tooling

Copper beryllium rod is available in sizes ranging from 0.030" to 6.0" diameter, and in lengths up to 12'. ToughMet® rod is available in sizes ranging from 1" up to 9", and in lengths up to 12'.

Specialty rod for use in the plastics tooling industry is available in moldMAX®, PROtherm® and moldMAX XL® alloys.

Bar is also produced in straight lengths, but has a cross section other than round. Square, rectangular and hexagonal are the most common. Typical applications include:

  • Antigalling wear plates
  • Guide rails and bus bars
  • Machined threaded fasteners
  • Wear parts for off-road equipment
